In the past, I’ve done one of these only rarely–I was, after all, concentrating on my novels, and I know how hard it is to get series books onto nomination lists if you’re not, you know, the Wheel of Time. That’s why now that I’m doing one, I’m throwing my weight behind something entirely new and entirely self-contained:
Thinking in Pieces is in the short story category. It’s short, sweet, and free to read!
I also thought, 2015 will be the year in which I read a ton of short fiction throughout the year to inform my own nominations. That, I am sad to say, did not happen. However, I did read a really cool book called Updraft by a really cool writer named Fran Wilde, and she happens to have recommended a ton of great 2015 speculation fiction that I intend to be working my way down as much as I can in the next few weeks.
