It’s not Thanksgiving, but this is still a post in which I am thankful. What am I thankful for? Find and replace! Or really, find, since in my revisions I’m not replacing wholesale but tweaking a handful of a term to something else. It makes me imagine what it might be like to be some kind of Regency authoress (I like Regency clothes, shut up), at my dainty writing table in front of the window for the better light, staring at my stack of scrawled inky pages, thinking, “How will I ever find all of the names in this manuscript to change them! It will take days of labor!” Then I’d give up and go to dinner with my very practical husband of my own station and discuss my scandalous sister and her lover.
Instead I can ctrl-f my merry way down through a manuscript in under an hour. Progress marches on!
In other news, revisions are going pretty well, though I’m off to Radcon in a few days. Hopefully I’ll get to see some of you there!
