In their time as alphas of the Roanoke pack, Silver and Andrew Dare changed dozens of lives, Were and human alike. This collection gathers together moments in those lives, past, present, and future, illuminating those who touched the alphas in turn.<\/em><\/p>\n

Four short stories follow Were as they struggle with a decision to be beta, a fight on the trail of a Russian artifact, a first shift, and a future in which Were are imprisoned across the world.<\/em><\/p>\n

Two novellas\u2014one never before published\u2014follow Faith, a human archaeologist. In \u201cMistaken Captives,\u201d she must fight to negotiate the Were world when she is accidentally kidnapped by the Russian pack. In \u201cContested History,\u201d Faith must then summon all her diplomacy and bravery to direct an excavation to uncover Were history while protecting the Were man she loves.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
